Eshak – Citywalk 2’s Favorite Uzbek Fusion Food Spot

Located at Citywalk 2, Eshak is a colourfully vibrant place that serves a fusion of Middle Eastern, Uzbek, Armenian, European, Georgian and Caucasian food. Based on the unique ‘Choyhona’ concept, it draws inspiration from the rich culture of the Silk Route, marked with homely touches, generous portions and friendly service.

Enter and you will notice a row of baskets full of fresh fruits and vegetables from all over the world. It’s surprisingly a market where they replenish their stock every couple of days.

We get ourselves a table in the outdoor terrace and order for a shisha from their limited edition Shisha menu. After admiring the attractive ambience, we decide to take a look at the food menu. While browsing through their elaborate menu, we’re confused with the names and cannot decide what to order; so our kind server recommends some of their must-haves. Thereafter, a medley of fragrant, Instagram-worthy dishes appears on our table. Every dish is made using freshest ingredients and is packed with beautiful flavours.

Adjar khachapuri, a deliciously crisp Georgian puff pastry boat, steaming hot, fresh out of the oven and oozing with cheese is too tempting to resist. Juicy lamb mantas (Turkish dumplings) are perfectly shaped and flavorful. Baklajan a.k.a fried eggplant rolls stuffed with cream cheese are so moreish we couldn’t get enough of them. Lamb pilaf – spiced rice with slow cooked lamb is bursting with flavours and is so good that if we had adequate space left, we would surely call for a second portion. For dessert, we tried the baklava stuffed with ice cream in the center, seasoned with nuts and cinnamon – not particularly memorable but still enjoyable.
