From lip-smacking Moroccan tagines to grills to popular staples like hummus and falafel, there’s plenty to choose from at Al Maeda. A beautifully done up restaurant with a relaxed, cozy vibe, it offers diners the option to either be seated inside or head outside onto the outdoor terrace from where they can enjoy stunning sea views. It’s carefully covered and air conditioned so the warm summer heat doesn’t get in the way.

We started our meal with favorites like tabouleh, fattoush, hummus, mutabal, beetroot mutabal and hot mezzeh. The salads were fresh, flavorful and refreshing. I personally loved and relished every single bit of the mutabal. The beetroot version was just as awesome and a perfect example of a ‘traditional meets modern’ dish. Next, we got our hands on the grill bahri (consisting of fish kofta, fish taouk and jumbo prawns) and mix grill (consisting of lamb kofta, lamb kebab and shish taouk) platters – both were amazing. They have an open kitchen so you can watch the chefs whip up dishes right in front of you. Lastly, to wash it all off, we dug into the mango muhalabia and basboussa cheesecake sphere – both, perfect summer treats with fruity flavors.
